- Suitable materials are selected for both the vessel and the coil, taking into account the properties of the substances being processed, the heating or cooling medium, and any corrosive elements.
- For internal coils, the coil is often fabricated separately using materials such as stainless steel or other alloys. The coil is shaped according to the design specifications, ensuring proper configuration and length.
- The vessel is fabricated based on the design specifications. The material chosen for the vessel depends on factors such as the intended application, pressure ratings, and material compatibility with the contents.
- If using an internal coil, it is integrated into the vessel during the fabrication process. For external coils, the jacket is designed and added to the vessel. The coils are positioned to provide efficient heat transfer.
- Welding techniques are employed to join the vessel components and secure the coils in place. High-quality welds are crucial for ensuring the structural integrity and leak-tightness of the vessel.
- The completed vessel undergoes pressure testing to ensure that it can withstand the operational pressure without leaking. This is typically done using water or another suitable testing medium.
- Insulation may be added to the vessel to minimize heat loss and improve energy efficiency. This step is particularly important for applications where temperature control is critical.
Rigorous quality control measures are implemented throughout the manufacturing process. Non-destructive testing (NDT) methods may be employed to ensure weld quality, material integrity, and overall compliance with design standards.
A final inspection is conducted to verify that the coil vessel meets all design specifications and safety standards. This includes checking for proper installation of coils, fittings, and insulation.
